Common Sense (Wisdom) is a Gift from God, Use It

When we read the Bible, we must use common sense (wisdom);

God gives us common sense, use it when reading the Bible. Common sense is required If we want to understand what we read, or we will be confused and miss the true meaning of the Bible.

 In the Bible. First of all, we know God did not write the Bible, the Bible was written by humans (mostly bigot males), and all humans make mistakes. . If men wrote the Bible, what makes you think the Bible is without errors? Some of us make mistakes that sometimes cause pain, suffering, and death to others and ourselves.

I watched a Documentary on tv about the “Sons of God/Fallen Angels.” The people in this documentary debated who were the Sons of God.

Some of the debaters Suggested the Sons of God were fallen angels, but some suggested the Sons of God were the descendants of Seth. Seth is the third of the first three males born to the marriage of Adam and Eve. The other two firstborn males from that marriage were Abel and Cain. Some debaters said the Daughters of Men were the descendant of Cain.

Some of the people in the discussion suggested the Sons of God could not be fallen angels because angels are spirit beings, and spirit beings cannot get a human woman pregnant. The problem with that suggestion is we will have to say Joseph is Jesus’ biological father.

The marriage between the Sons of God and the Daughters of Men was unpleasant to God, and He decided to destroy (kill) all of the humans except eight and destroy the earth. The Bible’s writers made it seem as if the union between the Sons of God and the Daughters of Men was what really made God angry, plus some other stuff we were doing.

The children born from the union of the Sons of God and the daughters of Men were called Nephilim; they were giants; I suppose they were male and female, but the biblical writers did not mention it. The Nephilim were not destroyed by the flood that killed most of the humans on earth at that time.

Genesis 6:4 NIV –  The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old men of renown. (The Bible writers wrote men of renown; I assume that included women too).

Genesis 6:13 NIV – God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. (Keep in mind this was written by bigot males because in this verse it states people which includes men and women but in Genesis 6:4 NIV, it states men of renown, unless there were no females born from that marriage which is very unlikely).

The human writers wrote destroy both them and the earth, but they forgot to write about when God created a new earth on which we live today. Here is where common sense (wisdom) helps us understand what is happening here.

If God had destroyed the earth, which man wrote he did, He would have created a new earth for us to live on, but there is no mention of it in the Bible. Let’s say men made a mistake when he wrote God was going to destroy the earth.

Let’s say God did not destroy the earth; he covered it with water, and after the water receded, the same earth appeared again. These types of human errors are all through the Bible, so we must use common sense when we read it, or we may think the whole Bible is one big joke.
